The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Tournament Travel Requirements

This page contains information on travel within the United States, Foreign travel, Travel Forms and special rules for U-10 teams.

TRAVEL TO A TOURNAMENT INSIDE THE UNITED STATES
Permission to Travel is required for any team that wants to play any match or scrimmage outside of Massachusetts. If, however, a team is playing in a League affiliated with Mass Youth Soccer and a League match is scheduled outside of Massachusetts, Permission to Travel is not required. The Permission to Travel requirement applies to all tournaments, whether the tournament is sanctioned by US Youth Soccer or not and to all individual matches or scrimmages.  Please Note:  Permission to Travel papers are no longer required for any US Youth Soccer sponsored tournament held in any of the states within the USYS East Region.  However Mass Youth Soccer asks that all teams going to any such Tournament in the USYS East Region to complete the on-line Travel Form linked below.

Mass Youth Soccer members can now get instantly approved tournament and travel forms right here on our web site. Two different authorization forms are available:
(1) Permission to Travel to US Youth Soccer Event
(2) Guest Player Roster

You can fill in the required data online. Once you click submit you are emailed an approved form certificate. You then simply print the form(s), agree to the terms by signing the printed page, and present the form and other required documents to the tournament/event which your team is attending. It's that easy.

TRAVEL FORMS
PERMISSION TO TRAVEL FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT
GUEST PLAYER ROSTER FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT

IMPORTANT!!! If a team wants to play in a tournament that is not sanctioned by U.S. Youth Soccer or another U.S. Soccer Youth Member Organization (i.e. US Club, USSSA), the team must obtain separate insurance to cover everyone associated with the team. Mass Youth insurance, both general liability and medical coverage does not cover play in events not sanctioned by non U.S. Soccer member organizations.

TRAVEL TO A TOURNAMENT OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES
Permission of the US Soccer Federation is required for all travel outside the United States.  This includes such short trips as to Canada and much longer trips to Europe, South America and Asia.

UNDER 10 POLICY REMINDER
A reminder to all teams Under 10 and younger: By policy adopted by the Mass Youth Soccer membership, all teams Under 10 and younger may play in tournaments (both inside and outside of Massachusetts) only if that tournament is advertised or marketed as a "Festival" a "Jamboree" or otherwise marketed as play that is non-results based. There shall be no awards based upon win/loss records for Under 10 and younger age groups. The tournament may provide participation awards for all players in these age groups. Participation in a tournament that does not meet these criteria is a violation of Mass Youth Soccer policies and procedures and could result in disciplinary action taken against either the team, coach, or both.

A reminder to all teams planning travel outside the U.S.: A team that intends to travel outside the United States must secure permission to travel from both Mass Youth Soccer and U.S. Soccer. Complete the travel procedures available on this web site. However, additional permission to travel is also required from U.S. Soccer. These forms and instructions are available on the U.S. Soccer web site.
