The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

District Select Program

The District Select Program ("DSP") is run by Massachusetts Youth Soccer each summer. DSP provides players the opportunity to continue their development during the summer in a fun and competitive soccer environment.

District Select Program Update - July 8, 2020

On July 6th, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts updated their Phase 3, Step 1 Guidelines for Youth Sports.

Pursuant to the updated guidelines, Soccer is classified as a High Risk activity and therefore only permitted for Level 1 Play: “Individual or socially distanced group activities (no-contact workouts, aerobic conditioning, individual skill work, and drills)”

Based on this updated information, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the District Select Program for 2020.

As the Commonwealth Massachusetts continues it’s gradual reopening in phases, Mass Youth Soccer will be providing individual players, teams, programs and clubs across the state with opportunities to get players back on the field in a safe environment in alignment with updated guidelines provided by the State.

Although we are unable to host soccer games at our facility during Phase 3, Step 1, Massachusetts Youth Soccer is excited to expand our Summer Training Center offerings for players entering grades 3-12 in the fall of 2020.

DSP Player and Parent Handbook - Updated June 29, 2020

DSP Districts
For the purposes of the DSP, the state is divided into seven Districts. Click the link below to find which district your town is in:
In the event a team in a player's age group and gender is not formed in the player's DSP District, the player may elect to play in the appropriate age group and gender in a neighboring DSP District.

Tryouts and Tryout Registration (required to be placed on a team)

Given the delay in getting back on the fields the tryout process for 2020 will not be able to take place. The following procedures will apply:

  • Players who played a full 2019 summer DSP season will be provided a roster spot on the same team (one year older) for this summer.
  • Players who did not play in the 2019 summer DSP season will be placed on waitlist and placed on teams where spaces are available.  We will try our best to place players as needed.

All interested players past and new must be registered in the system in order to be placed on a ream. The link to use is the one used for tryouts.  Even though tryouts will not be taking place we must use this link to get players into the system to be placed on a team.  Returning players will have accounts from last year that can be used.  Please be sure to update the player’s shirt size, based on unisex sizing.  New players will establish an account and they must also provide a shirt size, based on unisex sizing.  Once registered and after being placed on a team will the parent receive a confirmation email that calls for payment.

Note:  The preferred browsers for this registration are Internet Explorer and Chrome. If you are using Microsoft Edge or Safari you may need to change browsers in order to complete the registration.

The cost for the program will be $150 per player.  In the event we must cancel the season prior to the first game, a full refund less credit card and processing fees (approximately $4) will be refunded. Financial aid is available for those who demonstrate a compelling need.

Given the delay in getting back on the fields, each player is to bring a white/grey t-shirt as well as a navy/black t-shirt to each game.  Players are to wear black shorts and white socks. Financial aid is available for those who demonstrate a compelling need.

Once a player has selected for a DSP team, he or she must formally make their DSP Payment on-line for the Program. This is a different process and in addition to the process of registering for DSP Tryouts. Please register players immediately after receiving the confirmation notice from the coach.

Coaches for DSP are committed to providing all of their players with a fun and competitive soccer environment.  If you are a coach and are interested in participating in the DSP program, please follow the registration process in the link below.
