Paul Irwin

Paul Irwin spent most of his youth playing hockey, however, his son became interested in soccer. Paul was unknowingly signed up to coach by his wife, and quickly sought out books for help and information. Irwin’s volunteerism led to him serving on the boards of Natick Soccer Club, BAYS, and the Massachusetts Premier League (MAPLE). He credits everyone he has worked with for his accomplishments. “It’s very nice to be recognized; there’s an arbitrary quality about it because there’s a huge range of people who have done a lot. I think of it as recognition of the league and its contributions. It’s an honor for the league and everyone involved in building it. I’m literally just one person.” Paul graduated from Cornell University and Harvard Law School, earning a degree in law from England’s University of Cambridge. He enjoyed spreading culture and ideas. He is remembered for bringing Massachusetts Premier League soccer to a new level.
