Mass Youth Soccer's Technical Directors and Expert Speakers from our partners will be presenting each Tuesday in February and March for a FREE educational series.

Kimberly O’Brien, PhD, LICSW, and Jacqueline Nesi, PhD, will be discussing social media and its impact on mental health. Dr. O’Brien is a clinical social worker in the Sports Medicine Division and Female Athlete Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and a research scientist and assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Nesi is an assistant professor at Brown University and author of Techno Sapiens, a weekly newsletter about technology, psychology, and parenting. This is an important topic for parents and coaches who are involved in the development of children and teens.

This session will cover important tactics for coach and player retention, optimizing the grassroots experience, and more.

Injury Prevention

Your Injury Prevention Experts from Bay State Physical Therapy and MCR Chiropractic will be discussing their overall goal of injury prevention for athletes. They will be showing how they can assess athletes who may be predisposed to injury based on screenings. The 4 injury types that will be covered are: Concussion, Ankle, ACL and Hamstring Strain.
