The Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association is proud to host the 2022 Massachusetts State Cup. This Championship is the first phase of the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Series.
The Championship is open to all 12U-19U teams who meet the 2022 Massachusetts State Cup Eligibility Requirements.
Returning Winners and Finalists from 2021 US Youth Soccer Massachusetts State Cup will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively. Remaining 2022 Massachusetts State Cup entrants will all be entered into a Blind Draw.
Official League Team Roster and State Cup maximum size is 22 players and Game Day Roster maximum size is 18 players for all 11 v 11 teams. All Teams must maintain continuity of 11 common players between their Official League Roster and State Cup Roster. (Please note this has increased from 9 players in previous years per US Youth Soccer)
12U (2010 Birth Year) will play 9v9, all other age groups will play 11v11. All will play a single game elimination format, varying based on the number of teams entered per age/gender group. Roster maximum size is 16 players.
Play-in games will be played, if required, to reduce each age/gender group to 16 teams. These games will be self-scheduled by the teams and must be played by May 1.

The State Cup Championship fees will be broken down into two categories; Entry Fee and Per Game Fee. The Entry Fee includes team registration and tournament expenses not included in the Per Game Fee. The Per Game Fee includes the on-site game day costs, field fees and referee fees.

* Fully Affiliated Member: More than 50% of club's teams participate in Mass Youth Soccer sanctioned leagues.
Teams will be invoiced by Mass Youth Soccer, for their Game Fee(s) after they have played their last State Cup game.
For those teams selected to play a “play-in” game, they will have 50% of their entry fee returned if they do not advance to the Round of 16. Registration is capped at a maximum of 32 teams per age group. Additional teams will be waitlisted.
There will be no charge for fields or referees to teams using Progin Park for their “play-in” games. If teams choose to play at another site, the teams will be responsible for any field charges that might be incurred.
The Massachusetts State Cup winners will advance to the 2022 US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships. The Eastern Regional Championships takes place June 24 - June 30 in Charleston and Barboursville, West Virginia. The event will feature Boys and Girls teams in the 12U through 19U age groups.
PLEASE NOTE: Massachusetts State Cup winners who withdraw from attending the Eastern Regional Championships will be subjected to fines up to $2,000.00.
Winners of the 13U - 19U Boys and Girls U.S.Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships will advance to the 2022 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Orlando, Florida July 19 - July 24.
PLEASE NOTE: Teams who withdraw from attending the US Youth Soccer National Championships will be fined $5,000.00.
