The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Coach Education Courses - 2018 Workshop

To register for either the US Soccer 4v4 license  or United Soccer Coaches Diploma, please check the appropriate box on the 2018 Mass Youth Soccer Workshop Registration Form (Found on the 2018 Workshop Homepage). US Soccer

US SOCCER 4v4 LICENSE

Mass Youth Soccer is excited to offer one of the first in-person US Soccer 4v4 Licenses at our 2018 Workshop.  This new and exciting course will specifically target the age-appropriate needs of the players who play at the 4v4 level. 
 
Beginning in January, 2018, US Soccer will update its Grass Roots license structure to address small sided game formats and align with the US Soccer Player Development Initiatives (PDI) at all age groups. Online and In-Person courses will be available for 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11.
 
The 4v4 License Course will run from 8am-12pm at the Mass Youth Soccer Workshop and consist of 2 hours of classroom time and 2 hours of field demonstrations with age appropriate players. The course will be focused around the key tasks of the coach as defined by US Soccer. The 4v4 license is priced at $40. 
 
Key Tasks of the Coach
  • Leading the Team: Keys for organizing the group, role of the club and parents.
  • Leading the Player: A coach must know the age characteristics of the player.
  • Coaching Training Sessions: How to organize a practice and teaching tools; How to put together a practice plan?
  • Coaching Games: Tips for organizing your team for the game.
  • Managing the Performance Environment: Goals of developing this age group.
  • Leadership: The coach as a role model.

TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE ADVANCED PLAYER 

Learn how to develop your players on the technical fundamentals of the game including passing, shooting, and dribbling. The Technical Development for the Advanced Player diploma will be led by Vince Ganzberg from United Soccer Coaches with assistance from Ian Mulliner and the Mass Youth Soccer Technical Staff. The Diploma will consist of 1 classroom session and 2 filed demonstrations addressing the development of technique and skill in competitive players at all levels of the game.  

The Technical Development for the Advanced Player Diploma will run from 1pm to 5pm and is priced at $40.
