Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Al Cosentino earned a business administration degree from Burdett College, and although he had almost no interaction with soccer, he volunteered to fundraise when his son David signed up play. Soon after, Al was appointed to the Board of Directors for Billerica Youth Soccer Association and became a Director for the Middlesex League in 1981. Al’s involvement in the game continued to increase as he became State Cup Commissioner for Massachusetts Youth Soccer. In 1985, Al created the MTOC for DIV 1-2 and the State Cup Knock-out tournament Al also was the chairperson for the Eastern Regional tournament held at U/Mass – Amherst in 1988/89 and 1991/92.
At the grass roots level, he volunteered time with U-6 and U-8’s where he grew fond of officiating and became a licensed referee.
Al is also a member of the Eastern Mass Soccer Officials Association and National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association. His most memorable moment was carrying the World Cup trophy through Alumni Stadium.
