Massachusetts Youth Soccer hosts the Massachusetts State Cups Tournament each year. This tournament brings together some of the best U13 to U19 teams in Massachusetts. The U13 and U14 age divisions will be limited to 32 teams each. The U15-U19 age divisions will be limited to a maximum 12 teams each. The winner of each age/gender grouping is declared the State Champion and goes on to represent Massachusetts in the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships. Regional winners will then go on to play in the US Youth National Championships.

All teams applying to participate in the State Cup will be seeded by a 3-person gender-specific Seeding Committee comprised of 1 Director of Coaching (DOC) from each premier league in Massachusetts (currently MAPLE and NEP) and the Massachusetts State Cup Director.

In the U13 and U14 age divisions, all 32 teams will compete in a single elimination game. The highest seeded teams will be matched against lowest seeded teams. Once the field is reduced to 16 teams, the remaining teams will play in a round robin format. In the U15 through U19 age divisions, all competition will be in a round robin format. Each age division will play the appropriate number of games in its bracket based on the number of teams in that bracket. Winners of each bracket, based on total points, will advance to the semi-final round of competition. No more than four (4) teams will advance to the semi-final round from each age division. For the U15 through U19 age divisions, the second place bracket finisher with the highest point total will advance to the semi-final round with the three bracket winners.
The team entry fee for State Cup 2014 for U13 and U14 teams is $500.00.
The team entry fee for State Cup 2014 for U15 and older teams is $550.00.
Teams in the U13 through U18 age divisions that are not selected to participate in the State Cup will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Massachusetts Open Cup.
