CORI Submitter Information

NEW CORI REQUEST PROCEDURES

Effective August 14, 2015 a new Adult and CORI registration procedure has been implemented.

  • Adults must first complete the Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration process and be a member of an affiliated organization before completing the CORI request form.

Detailed instructions on the new procedures can be found at: ADULT REGISTRATIONS.

In order for Mass Youth Soccer to process your member’s CORI Requests; they MUST be listed on your organizations registration file as an affiliated member and have completed their Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration.

The Criminal Offender Record Information (“CORI”) laws and regulations in Massachusetts were first enacted in the early 1970s. While they have and continue to undergo a number of changes and developments, their primary focus remains intact. CORI is designed to protect the general public from exposure to potentially dangerous individuals with a criminal past. Organizations that serve vulnerable segments of the population such as Massachusetts Youth Soccer are given limited access to information about prospective coaches, administrators, volunteers and employees who may have a serious criminal history and who may pose a significant threat to the children involved in youth soccer across the state. The agency that oversees criminal background checks in the Commonwealth is the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS).

This web page is designed to help clarify the policies and procedures Massachusetts Youth Soccer and all of our affiliated organizations MUST follow when conducting criminal background checks.

CORI Submitter

Each youth soccer organization is required to identify a CORI submitter, and Massachusetts Youth Soccer will qualify that person under the State CORI Office guidelines. CORI submitters will be responsible, along with their organization’s registrars, for making sure all adults involved in their program are properly registered and CORI checked.  Hence, each club or team will have one qualified CORI submitter who will be responsible for collecting every adult's CORI agreement form and verify identity. Instructions and forms for how to become a CORI Submitter can be found by clicking on the links in the left rail.

Administrative access to Affinity's ShareView

The Google Sheets of CORI Approved/Cleared Adults was recently removed from our website, making ShareView your only source for CORI/Risk Status information.

If you are the President, Registrar, a Board Member or CORI Submitter for your organization and require Administrative access to Affinity's ShareView, please review the steps below as they are required prior to Admin access being given.

  1. All organizations must have an up to date Leadership report listing the proper adults in their roles. You are also required to notify Michael Borislow of any Leadership report changes.
  2. You must have a current Annual Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration.
  3. You must be CORI Cleared.
  4. If you are your organization's CORI Submitter, Please view the, "How to become a CORI Submitter" document on the left hand side of this page.

*Please email Mary Relic at mrelic@mayouthsoccer.org when these steps have been completed so that you can obtain Administrative access to ShareView as your organization's President, Registrar or CORI Submitter.

Credentials

We understand that Fall start-up is very hectic on its own and the introduction of another new step could over burden our members.  With this in mind the decision was made to introduce the use of Credentials as a "soft launch" and they will not be required until the Spring 2017 season.  This provides you with the time to slowly introduce the Credentials now and more time to prepare leading up to next Spring season.

Please click the link below for directions for ordering Lanyards, plastic sleeves and printing your organizations Credentials. We do ask that you review the Credential information at your earliest convenience.

Important note: You will be unable to print a Credential if the adult does not have a Risk Status of either Approved or Conditional, or if the adult does not have a photo attached to their registration. Thus, if an adult has a Risk Status of None, CORI Resubmit, Pending, Expired, Suspended or Under Review a credential will not be available for them.
