Tournament Rules


MTOC Rules

1. Teams should report to the registration tent at least 30 minutes prior to their game time. Each team must bring 4 game roster forms. Forms must be:
a. typed
b. in alphabetical order
c. list jersey numbers

Each player and coach must have a Player Pass Card (with picture) laminated in clear plastic. Failure to supply rosters and/or rosters and players cards will result in the head coach being suspended for each game that the forms are not available. If the information is not available prior to the completion of the game, the game will be recorded as a forfeit.

2. Shinguards are MANDATORY. Players not having shinguards will not be allowed to play until they are wearing them and have checked in at the registration tent.

3. Players' uniforms consist of:
a: soccer jersey with visible, legible and matching numbers
b: matching soccer shorts
c: pair of matching socks
d: pair of soccer shoes (NO SPIKES ALLOWED)

4. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED:
a: cut off shorts
b: JAMS
c: spandex that does not match the short color
d: boxer shorts
e: Jewelry (string bracelets, barrettes, hairpins, earrings, etc.)
f: unnecessary zinc oxide painting or other offensive displays
Players not conforming to the above dress code will not be allowed to play.

5. The HOME team will provide alternate jerseys if there is a color conflict. The home team is team listed first on the schedule. The referee shall have final say on color conflicts.

6. Both teams will be located on the same side of the field. All spectators will be located on the opposite side of the field. Only the players and two coaches per team are allowed on the team side of the field.

7. There will be a spectator line ( dashed line about 1 yard outside the touch line ) on the spectator side of the field. Spectators are expected to stay behind this line. This line is for the Assistant Referee so that he/she can run his/her side of the field and see the touchline on the other half of the field.

8. Players, coaches and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the letter of the law and the SPIRIT of the law, and the SPIRIT OF ZERO TOLERAENCE.

Displays of TEMPER, DISSENT by word or action against opponents or referees are cause for ejection from the match and/or premises and/or SUSPENSION from the tournament.

Coaches receiving a Red Card (EJECTION) for any reason will be SUSPENDED for the REMAINDER of the Tournament.

The coach is responsible for his/her spectator's behavior. Each coach should inform their spectators of the rules ( i.e. behavior, spectator line, etc.). Each coach is expected to monitor his or her spectators and take corrective action if necessry. Each coach is excepted to support the referee or tournament official if action against a spectator is required. MTOC committee except all players, coaches and spectators to uphold the spirit of ZERO TOLERENCE policies.

9. No more than 3 out of state players are allowed on a team's roster. These players must be rostered as per the Mass Youth Soccer rule on out of state players.

10. There shall be NO PETS on the fields or inside the perimeter of the fields. NO TENTS shall be inside the perimeter of the fields. They shall be allowed only in DESIGNATED AREAS.

11. PROTESTS: The protest must be in writing and submitted to the tournament committee (located at the registration tent) along with a $100.00 cash protest fee. The protest must be filed within two hours of the completion of the match in question. The protest fee of $100.00 will return if the protest is upheld.

RAIN POLICY
In case of postponements all necessary games will be made up in two weeks - there will be no exceptions. These dates are July 10 & July 11, 2004. Staring times 9:00 am. Field locations and times will be announced when team selection is finalized.
