Frequently Asked Questions

1.      I am a new club registrar.  How do I go about registering my club/team?
Read our registration page.  Read through the database instructions carefully.  Ultimately you need to send us the fee submission sheet, your roster and your registration fees.

2.      Where can I get a Mass Youth Soccer registration packet?
If you would prefer to have a paper copy of the registration information, call the Mass Youth Soccer office or email kmurphy@mayouthsoccer.org and we can put one in the mail to you.

3.      How can I obtain more blank Player Pass Cards and Membership Forms?
The Mass Youth Soccer office will send you these materials free of charge.  Simply call the office or email acosentino@mayouthsoccer.org with your request.  Be sure to include: your name, your title, the name of the organization for which you are requesting these materials, a non-PO Box mailing address, and a phone number or email address so that we can contact you with questions.

4.      We live near the border of the state, and a team outside of Massachusetts is more convenient for me and my child.  What do I need to do to roster my child on that team?
Your child needs to be registered with his or her state of residence.  If your child is not registered, you will need to fill out a Mass Youth Soccer Membership Form. A Release to Play Out of State is the form to request permission for out-of-state play.  These forms will assure that your child is registered with and thus insured through Mass Youth Soccer, and that you have permission from Mass Youth Soccer to play in another state (that out-of-state team will want proof of permission).  Note that the Release to Play Out of State form is used for season-long play with an out of state team as well as a one-time guest-player in a tournament.

5.      My young child is interested in playing town/club soccer.  How do I find a team and then roster him/her on that team?
Your first step is to go to our Leagues page to find your town of residence.  It will be evident whether that team has its own web page or not.  If it does, use that web page to find contact information for that team.  If it does not, feel free to contact the League president, whose telephone number and email address are listed just below the league's name.  You may also want to look at the League's web page.  Generally town/club soccer begins at the U6 age group.

6.      How do I find out what my child's proper “age group” is?
There is a current age-group listing on our registration page.  Please note that town and club soccer age groups run from August 1st of every year.  The ODP program alone classifies age groups by calendar years.

7.      The owner of the fields where my team practices tells me he needs proof that my team is insured.  How do I get that proof?
You will need to fill out a Certificate of Insurance Request Form, found in the “Forms” section of our website.  Please note that we will only be able to issue a Certificate of Insurance if your club/team is currently registered with Mass Youth Soccer.

8.      Can you tell me if my child is registered with Mass Youth Soccer?
Yes we can!  If you have any doubt, please call the Mass Youth Soccer office at 978/466-8812 and dial extension 221 for Kate Murphy.  If your child is playing youth soccer on a town or club team in the state of Massachusetts he/she needs to be registered with Mass Youth Soccer.  If a player is not registered, that player is not insured!
