Welcome Coaches!

Mass Youth Soccer offers many opportunities for you and for your players. Meet our development staff who you will see out on the fields and who run the courses, campscoach  and  player clinics and skills academies that we offer coaches and athletes. These coaches are here to be used as a constant resource. If you have questions at any point during the year about any soccer related situation, please draw on their expertise as they are here to serve you. While here, please take some time and explore all that we have to offer you…

If you would like to register for a G, F, E or D license course, please check out our Coaching Events Schedule.  Click on any course for further information, and to register online.

Just picking up a clipboard for the first time this season, or do you spend every weekend coaching?  Every coach will benefit from taking the “G license” course. Becoming a better coach means your players will enjoy the game more and develop more efficiently…to become a better coach, take our licensing courses, as we are the official and only US Soccer licensure agency for the state of Massachusetts.  We offer the “G” , “F”,  “E” and “D” courses regularly all over the state and will come to your hometown if you wish to arrange a course.

You can also advance your coaching knowledge by taking advantage of the Coach Resource Library with articles and presentations on all aspects of coaching from small sided soccer, club development, and player development plus many morejust click Coach Resource Library to explore them all.  We also recommend taking the time to familiarize yourself with the Statewide Soccer U6-U12 Curriculum and both the US Soccer player development guidelines and US Youth Soccer Player Development guidelines.  We encourage you to contact any of our development staff with questions.  Our first priority is to serve our coaches throughout the state in any way we can. Recognizing that transitioning your town to small sided soccer requires many adaptations, we provide the official US Youth Soccer Field Size Guidelines for U6-U12. In addition, please read our coaches code of conduct as you gear up for each season.

Mass Youth Soccer takes player development very seriously, and offers several innovative programs throughout the year to enrich what your players are learning on the pitch. We will personally cater any program to best fit your needs and many of our services are free. We offer speciality clinics, indoor skills academies during the winter, a Residential and Day Camp with the state's most qualified coaching staff in the summer, and various player and coach development programs created specific to club and town needs in the fall and spring.  Another Mass Youth Soccer program that we are excited about is the Skills Patch Program allowing teams to motivate their players to move through skill levels and earn specialized patches.

While we all recognize that both our players and ourselves, as coaches, need to continue to expand our soccer education, we have to consider our clubs and programs as whole communities, including parents and club boards.  To this end we offer parent education guidelines and handouts for each age group.  If you feel that your board would like to learn more about the opportunities that Mass Youth Soccer offers to speak in detail about any of the subjects listed on this page, our Marketing Director and/or Development Coaches would be happy to speak to your board. Further, our Development staff will help your board focus their actions and organize most efficiently by sharing what is being done in other towns and clubs in this state and others. We will also help you strategize and lead you through a process to develop 1, 3, and 5 year plans. All board development is entirely free and part of your privilidge as a Mass Youth Soccer member.

Mass Youth Soccer takes reaching all children very seriously, and to this end we offer several Outreach Programs which include TOPSoccer (program for players with disabilities), GOALS (free inner city outreach camps), and Soccer Kicks for Cancer.

Mass Youth Soccer is committed to bringing soccer opportunities to the towns and cities of Massachusetts , and any town can host a course where our staff comes to your community.  Mass Youth Soccer also offers additional coaching training events .  After our staff has come to your town, we request that you fill out a staff instructor evaluation so that we can continue to learn and improve.

Want to see how much education and fun go on at our courses?  Check out the photo gallery.  For more fun, why not expose your kids to a professional game?

Whatever your soccer endeavor, we at the state office are here to help and enjoy doing so, so please take advantage of your membership and drop us a line. We look forward to hearing from you.
