MASS YOUTH SOCCER
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
One of the numerous benefits of participation in the Mass Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program is the opportunity for foreign travel. Each year Mass ODP organizes a trip abroad to give our players a chance to experience the game of soccer on an international level. Players and many of their parents have traveled to Portugal and Spain in recent years and learn first hand the level of passion Europeans have for the "beautiful game". Our trips usually take place during February school break. It is our goal to blend training, competitions, touring, learning and relaxation in every trip abroad.

In 2011, Mass ODP Boys traveled to Portugal. They played Academy teams from both Sporting Clube de Portugal and Sport Lisboa s Benfica in Lisbon. They also toured Lisbon and the central Portugal town of Anadia in the middle of wine country. The boys trained and played on some of the finest soccer facilities in Europe and enjoyed the excitement of international competition. They also went sightseeing and touring at each destination. The highlight was The University of Coimbra. Founded in 1290 by King Dinis, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world.
