U. S. YOUTH SOCCER
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
US Youth Soccer is divided into four (4) geographic regions. Each Region offers a regional camp for state association ODP teams in each eligible age group. The camps are designed to provide high level competition and training for participating players. During this training and competition, players who are capable of performing at a higher level of play are identified for possible national team camp, pool, or team participation. Massachusetts Youth Soccer is a member of Region 1. Region 1 ODP runs Summer Camps each year and each Massachusetts Youth Soccer ODP player is invited to attend.
The Region 1 Camp
The advantages to attending the Region 1 Camp are clear. the players invited to the Camp are all ODP players from states throughout the northeast. This means that players will be training and playing with and against some of the finest soccer players in the country. Further, the Camp is staffed by ODP Region 1 Coaches. These coaches undergo a rigorous selection process and are evaluated by the Region on a regular basis. Hence, the coaching staff at the Region 1 Camp is one of the finest staffs in the country. Finally, the Camps are held at Rider University in new Jersey, Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and the University of Rhode Island all of which boast some of the finest soccer training facilities in the country. The Region 1 Camp is a tremendous opportunity to learn, improve and develop as a player with and amongst some of the best players and with and under the instruction of a top quality coaching staff.
