MASS YOUTH SOCCER
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
UNDER 12 ODP TRAINING PROGRAM
In 2011 Massachusetts Youth Soccer announced the creation of the ODP U12 Training Program. The Program is designed to be a developmental program in the truest sense of the words. Players in their formative years will be allowed to grow and develop in the game in an environment that is in no way linked to "winning at all costs". The development of players is the only concern and the only focus of the program. While the Program will be highly competitive, the competition will be used to encourage growth and excellence not to measure or define a player's success.
THE PROGRAM
The ODP U12 Training Program consists of 10 training sessions each spring. There will be no indoor training over the winter. Training will be at the Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park, Mass Youth Soccer's state-of-the-art training facility in Lancaster, MA, on Monday evenings. The ODP U12 Training Program promises to be an excellent introduction for parents and players to the Olympic Development Program, its philosophy and the endless opportunities it provides.

THE SELECTION PROCESS
Player pools of 40-60 boys and 40-60 girls will be selected through an open tryout process. The selection process begins with the Summer U12 ODP Training Academy, a 2-day clinic held at various sites across the state each summer. Players will also be selected during the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Technical Development Centers. The TDC's are developmental clinics held over a 10-week period at various sites around the state each winter. Players will also be identified at other Massachusetts Youth Soccer player development opportunities throughout the year.
