U.S. Soccer's Player Development Initiative

US Soccer wants to make sure all members of the youth soccer community are as informed as possible on the collective plan to develop players to best of their abilities.

Please note, for MTOC qualifying leagues and recreational programs playing groups will be categorized as School Grades with a qualifying criteria of a date of birth range. For full details please review the Massachusetts Youth Soccer's statement on US Soccer Birth Year Mandate

Mass Youth Soccer's ODP, State Cup and Town Select Programs, as well as all play in Mass Youth affiliate MAPLE will adhere to US Soccer's Birth Year mandates for the 2016-17 season. 


Recognize to Recover is aimed at promoting safe play and reducing injuries in soccer players of all ages. The first-of-its-kind, the program was developed with the help of medical experts to provide coaches, players, parents and referees with information, guidance and additional educational materials to improve the prevention and management of injuries.
